1. =Build a new word from the previous word by...

2. =Building off of a word of length n, you may change up to floor( (n-1) / 2 ) letters, i.e. 3/4-long=1, 5/6-long=2, ...

3. =After changing letters you may add an any single letter, or remove one.

3.a. No word may be less than 3 letters long.

4. =All resulting letters may be arbitrarily rearranged.

--------------------Examples----------------------------------------
re-lock > unlock =====(n=6, change 2<=2)
cloak > leek ==.=====(n=5, change 2<=2, remove)
kittens > kitten =====-(n=7, change 0<=3, remove)
dominator > terminator (n=9, change 2<=4, add)
range > gears ======(n=5, change 1<=2)
