Brexit and the perception of it being 'right-wing'

Why do stereotypical, politically correct lefties, especially from other countries that aren't the UK - especially the US and Australia and Canada think that Brexit is a right-wing position? It really isn't. Labour, the predominant left-wing party in the UK, is in a spasm of conflict on the issue, with supporters and members ranging from extreme remainers to extreme Brexiteers and everything in between.
True, in general, right-wingers are more likely to be Brexiteers - but only for stupid reasons. Not because you know, the concept and details of Brexit are 'right-wing'. Actually, a lot of lefties think the European Union is politically on the right in terms of its economic policies and several other factors, including it's (un)democratic structure, its corporate subservience, its hostility toward poor countries outside of the EU zone for its own benefit...
Annoying that people judge you and won't debate you on the matter when they have a worthless, cookie-cutter viewpoint themselves.
Pro-tip: Gain a significant amount of knowledge about a subject before holding a position. No, this isn't supposed to be offensive. xoxo

Until the 1990s it was the Labour party that most opposed what has since become the European Union. Don't forget, it was a conservative prime minister, Mr Ted Heath, who brought the UK into what he knew would become the European Union (based on the lie of an economic union), to the bitter opposition of the Labour party (back when it was genuinely run for the benefit of the working class).
1. The European Union is racist - it forces member states (I would call them colonies) to favour white European immigration over African and Asian immigration.
2. The European Union keeps the third world in poverty by cripplingly taxing their imports.
3. The European Union is undemocratic, because it's only the entirely unelected European Commission that has power to introduce legislation.
4. It's elitist and corrupt, being as its commissioners are in bed with big business, for whose sole benefit the EU is run.
I don't see a anything there that those on the left would traditionally be inclined to support. The left supports the EU, against traditional left wing values, because the left is now owned by big business - for which witness the fact that the prime bankroller for pro EU propaganda in the UK and elsewhere in Europe is Mr George Soros, a billionaire who has made clear on a number of occasions, in true billionaire fashion, his contempt for the "masses".
What makes me laugh most of all is the Labour party's promises to renationalise
British industry in the event of a Labour party victory at the next election, despite its attempts (all but openly admitted) to veto Brexit; it's well known that EU law CATEGORICALLY FORBIDS any member state to nationalise any domestic industry. This is of course because the EU is owned - body and soul - by big business.
