My teacher keeps making subtle comments about me

Just to put it out there..
What if this teacher knows about spectrum traits because he or an immediate family member is on the spectrum?
Perhaps he wants to make a connection , but isn't allowed or doesn't feel comfortable asking outright.

Yes, I should clarify. Hes a very nice teacher, and I don't think hes doing it to pick on me. In fact, he seems slightly on the spectrum to me.
It surprised me when some people replied to you on this thread saying he was a bad teacher, or being unkind, and should be reported or whatever. I sounds to me more like someone who has some understanding, but maybe isn't quite sure whether it's OK to say more to you or not. I would have been rather pleased, when I was at school, if a teacher had shown that kind of understanding towards me.

I might've had some situations like this back in elementary, but I'll admit in terms of college, this is kinda beyond the pale for me. Maybe it's just because I've gotten really good at hiding it over the years, who knows. Also, awesome signature. I freaking love the work of Hunter S. Thompson. He basically served as the inspiration for my writing style if I'm just writing for myself. Plus his books are a really great read and I highly recommend them to anyone who hasn't read them before.
Glad to see a fellow fan!

It would seem that one or two people here are in denial about what a bully is and what about a bully is not. Allowing this teacher to behave negatively towards people who are mentally disabled is unacceptable. His behaviour needs reporting and correction immediately. His approach to someone who "might" be mentally disabled while he "might" be mentally disabled himself is completely wrong and could be harmful in the long run towards both parties.
Furthermore, making excuses for a teacher who is acting the bully is precisely why Autistics will never find acceptance in our society. If we allow people like this to continue with their actions then advancements and evolution will never occur.
As Autistics we need to have the courage to stand up to those who mean to do us harm or else they will keep harming us. So wake up kids and stop playing the fool and stop making excuses for someone you know nothing about.

I think none of us except the OP knows anything about the teacher in question. And the OP said "Yes, I should clarify. Hes a very nice teacher, and I don't think hes doing it to pick on me. "
Based on the evidence presented, it doesn't sound as if the teacher is trying to be mean or cruel. Maybe just trying to convey the idea that he understands something of the situation. Perhaps with a little touch of light irony or humour, intended, as I read it, in a supportive and friendly way.
By the way, I don't think the OP indicated in the first post whether these remarks were spoken just to him, or whether they were spoken out loud for the whole class to hear. Personally, I would in either case have been quite happy if a teacher at my school had conveyed to me that he understood that I had issues with socialisation. It was the teachers who didn't recognise such issues who caused me much more distress.

When I'm in class my teacher will say things that suggest he knows im autistic. One time I asked him if, as a chemistry student, I could get chemicals from the school. He replied, "Yes but that requires socializing with the faculty, so for you, impossible."
Then today I didn't have a lab partner, and I asked him if I'm allowed to work alone. He asked me, "Do you enjoy working alone?" I said yes, and he replied "I figured as much."
I never told him I'm autistic, I guess I'm just pretty noticeable.

Very passive-aggressive and sounds like he is NOT coming from a sincere or good place. Watch out - in HS i had a teacher like that and he ended up freaking out (i stood up fr a kid in my class that he was falsely accusing) then turned on me- emailing staff n principal that i had done things i had not done etc- tried to get me expelled without success.
My point is that these type of snake-like subtle jabs betray an evil soul that likes picking on the isolated/weak.
