This morning, while in the middle of the morning commute, I happened to be sitting near two women and one of them said she to the other one that she is engaged and is going to a favorite destination. I learned over and congratulated her and told her that I hope she enjoys the destination.

It was "Thank you. Oh wow!" Then the continued her conversation with her friend and she boasted about their plans to celebrate their 6 month wedding anniversary by going traveling out of the country. I got up and walked away because I felt she was annoying.

Why did she respond this way?
