I think it's even worse for female sex workers. They never know if someone might turn out to be a creep, or even a serial killer.
Or a cop.
There are, of course, ways to minimize this hazard...
1. As a general rule, never meet a man behind closed doors UNLESS he's properly vetted and someone you know you can trust. This is how sex workers (and especially trans ones) get killed. Meet him at a coffee shop or something.
2. Have a good friend watching out for you. Text her, make sure someone always knows where you are and who you're with.
3. Trust your instincts. If a guy seems sketchy, bail.
Of course, the rough reality of this is, a high percentage of women who do sex work can't
afford to take those cautionary measures. This is why the passing of SESTA and FOSTA was such a terrible loss; many of the tools we used to stay safe, like social networks etc., were permanently shut down.
Escorting is a fool's game, I
seriously wouldn't recommend anyone get into it unless it's absolutely as a last resort. I've honestly been putting more thought into becoming a porn actress, and possibly a camgirl as well. At least those are legal, and a lot safer too :b
