I spent a few months trying to learn Latin dancing but still any woman i try to dance with instantly acts like I'm incapable so at best they will unenthusiastically try and lead me instead of letting me lead, at worst they are just not interested.

I was wondering are there any autistic pro dancers? Or any autistic dancers in general? It would seem really improbable just from my own experience.

I was a very good dancer. Now I have no place to dance, but if I did I would be doing it. It is one of the very few physical activities I was good at, perhaps because I do have a sense of musicality.

There are a number of mistakes men make when trying to dance that cause women to cringe; unable to find the rhythm of the music, weak lead (or overly powerful lead), jerkiness (as in movement), and boring (do the same three moves over and over), If a woman suggests she lead, ask her to help you learn. Be honest that you want to get better. You may get rejected, but you are already having trouble finding partners, you might as well try to find out what is wrong.

I learned to dance the male and female parts to most dances because there are frequently not enough men. It is tough to lead. But worth learning. If a man is a good dancer, he generally has women falling all over him.

I am crap also. Autistics often have issues with being klutzy but not every autistic does, in least in ways that would prohibit them from being good dancers.

Did dance for years, still would if I could.
Alas, have developed co-ordination and balance issues.

I have never been able to dance. I danced worse that Elaine did on Seinfeld. Herky-jerky, completely inept. But then a part of that problem ins the ataxia.

The other problem is that I would look terrible and with everyone watching me, I would be so embarrassed. So I always tried to avoid that. Of course everyone watching me was something only in my mind. They wouldn't but then with me being unable to dance, they would. Sheesh!

I can't dance. Especially if someone is facing me showing me moves that I would then need to flip around in my mind to do them the right way: absolutely forget it. Step aerobics, same thing. The simplest series of steps have to be slowed down and I would have to practice for days what many could pick up in a minute. Here's the great thing though: I think it's wonderful that many people like to dance and equally wonderful that I can be happy about having zero interest in doing it.
