Afraid a war will happen

Normaly Im not afraid of war if its just threats being made. But I overheard my uncle talking today about his friend that works in China. He said theyre preparing for war. They have little islands with defence building up. Supposedly with the US and the U K. Thats what I heard.

How do I not be afraid of this and where would be a safe place to move?

There's no point in worrying about something you have no control over like that.

I would worry less if I knew where would be safe to move. I cant help but worry about it if China is physically preparing for war!

There is no safe place from war.

I would bet that they mean that they were preparing for a TRADE war. Not a war with guns and killing and all that.

Whats a trade war?

All countries trade with each other.

One country might feel like another country has things too good. That they get the advantage in the trading.

That one country might put a tax on something which the other country supplies, like steel. (this is called a tariff).

The other country gets upset that the one country is putting a tax on them. So they put a tariff on the first country.

This is a "trade war." It's about business, not about killing and guns.

No that doesnt sound like what he was talking about. My uncle likes talking about end of the world things. I should tell him to stop next time because it upsets me.

China is building islands and building air bases on those islands in international waters against un law. They are actively shooting down or threating to shoot down or sink any boat that goes into those waters(whole China sea) they claim to own the sea all the way up to japans beach for example. They’re also building massive bunker and tunnel complex’s though out China. They are preparing but their military is lacking. They have a large lacking army but no way to transport them outside China effectively thus currently limiting them to defensive wars or a war with land connected nations like India. They according to their own estimates can’t even invade Taiwan, so japan is no go.
So from my understanding they won’t be ready for any kind of offensive war in our lifetime. They also need to replace their tanks as their Troops are getting taller and bigger and can’t fit.

So while concerning probably not a problem for us. Neither Russia or China will be ready anytime soon if offensive war is their plan.

For now it’s just build up and modernization. China is far behind the rest of the world.
Honestly they’d be better off evading Russia since Russia has lots of empty land and China has too many people.

Like other person said there’s no point worrying about it. It’s out of our control and long way off.

Actually for not it seems China is preparing for defensive war probably to fight for control of China sea so if war breaks our many years from now it’ll probably be in China sea and Asia

Your uncle should find something else to think about other than the "end of the world."

People have been thinking that the "end is near" since the beginning of people.

No one is going to war over some stupid islands.

Japan, Philapines, vitetnam, korea aren’t stupid islands. United Nations gives them 200 miles from their coast which China claims is there’s cause the Chinese empire a thousand years ago controlled all the ocean around china(I bet Japanese navy back then said differently) regardless the people republic of China isn’t chinese empire and don’t hold claim to those claims if they were legit anymore then Germany can claim German empire colonies.
When Chinese empire collapsed and was separated into tiny fractions any such claimes it had died with it, and when China joined the UN they agreed to the international waters and 200 miles law thus dissolving any such claims.
What they are doing in Asia is against United Nations law, any other nation would be sanctioned but they’re a sitting member of the council
And this exempt and this the United Nations is a sham.

But again war is ways off currently it’s a Cold War and it might stay that for 50+ years like the last Cold War.

All China is doing is "flexing its muscles" a bit. Acting macho.

China could win a actual war with america?
