Cat troubles

So my neighbor got a cat. We really arent supposed to have pets but her excuse was just to babysit the cat for a few days while the owner got surgery. A few days turned into a month. Then the girl babysitting the cat dissapeared for over a week, with the cat locked in her room alone. The landlord came and took it out saying he would take care of it for a few days. But I overheard him saying he would wait for the girl to call him so he might be giving the cat back to her. Wich he shouldnt do if the cat was trapped in a room alone with no food or water. If no one knew about it the cat would die. Only me and the landlord found out about it. I dont want the poor cat to come back.

Do you know for a fact there was no food or water in the room? If food and water were provided, the cat should be okay.

The girl has violated a house rule. But I have to tell you, having a cat or two around the place may solve your rat problem.

Many cats will not attack a rat, although they will catch and kill mice. Rats are substantially bigger. However, the smell of cats will often deter a rat from entering an area, which is just as good as killing them.

Something to think about.

The landlord came in once to check on the cat before taking her. The cat had no food, but did have water and the litter box was good. When he took the cat today I overheard him say the girl must have been in because the note he left for herwas gone. But I could have sworn he said the cat had no food or water. Poor kitty.

I guess that girl was not a very good pet-sitter. But it may be that she ended up having the cat longer than she expected, too.

It was nice of the landlord to look into the cat's situation.

I love cats and I hate to think of them being mistreated. I hope the cat doesn't go to a shelter of the sort that euthanizes pets who no one adopts.

All I can do is keep an ear out to see if the girl is around to look after the cat. If she isnt Im calling the landlord again.
