In addition to being diagnosed with ASD myself, I have two cousins who are officially diagnosed with some form of autism, an uncle who almost certainly is on the spectrum, and an aunt who may be on the spectrum as well (none of these people are directly related to each other, so it’s not like the cousins are brothers or the aunt and uncle are married or the parents of either of the cousins). All of these people are relatively high-functioning. From what I’ve observed, at least, autism seems to run in families. Is there anyone else who has observed this within their family?

None that I know of.
I have a second-degree relative who has a diagnosed mental disorder but I don't know which one exactly. It's not an autism spectrum one though. Might be schizophrenia? I haven't heard in years. Not really in touch with my dad's side of the family.

I'm the only one in my family who's on the spectrum. However my dad has ADD, dyslexia, & other related learning disorders. I have those issues too & am sure I inherited em from my dad.

I’m not diagnosed but strongly suspect I am on the spectrum. My entire family is very NT and completely opposite of me. Most were popular in school, athletic or if not athletic at least very social, good at understanding people and in touch with the mainstream. I am none of these things. I’ve even had friends and significant others ask me if I was adopted and they were serious! I’ve always been the family freak/black sheep.

I suspect my uncle has autism. He has very bad social skills, he has sensory issues and he was nonverbal until he was 5.

Not that I know of, although it's suspected that at least one great grandmother might be considered on the spectrum. She died before I was born, so I never knew her, but from what it sounds like, she had traits but was considered "eccentric."

Not that I know of.

I'm not close to my father's side so I don't really know what is going on over there. I think I may have seen a suggestion that a 3rd cousin might be. I know nothing beyond that

Yes, my father definitely was Aspie/AS as were two aunts, his siblings. Of course these people lived and died long before anything was known about this.

I don't know. Likely none if not too late to for me to know.
If there were, it'll likely be another ND at best and less likely another autistic -- whom likely inherited from my either family's sides of in-laws than my own.

Nobody diagnosed.

I'm told my grandpa had some similar difficulties to me, so maybe there.

I've got an Aunt who I'm pretty sure has OCD, which I understand is likely the same genetic markers as ASD. No diagnosis there either though.

One of my cousin's girls has classic autism.

What mostly runs in my family strongly is bipolar, personality disorders and substance abuse disorders.
