That's what they say the difference between HFA and AS.
AS have a higher verbal IQ than nonverbal IQ. As were HFA have a higher nonverbal IQ than verbal. My daughter nonverbal IQ is 99 percentile. Where her verbal IQ is 75 percentile; that is a significant difference.
Overall my daughters IQ falls into the gifted catergory because her non verbal IQ is so high. The psychologist said it is amazing.
She also said she could tell from the IQ test results alone that she would be a child very prone to tantrums because of the difference between IQ's.

SubFactor IQ score = 152
Subscale percentile = 99.97

I don't think this is a valid IQ test though. I studied vocabulary a few years ago for the GRE, so I had an advantage for this test. And I didn't think the analogies or other questions were very difficult if you knew the vocabulary, so the test seems to be more a measure of vocabulary than verbal reasoning. The GRE actually does a better job of testing verbal reasoning than this test, because on the GRE the questions are tricky even if you know the vocabulary.

You appear to have a very limited vocabulary and lack the ability to identify the correct responses for a variety of different questions. A deficient vocabulary can hinder you in many ways; you may struggle to find the correct words when speaking, fail to understand what others are communicating to you, or come across as inarticulate to others. Fortunately, with practice, and by expanding your reading materials and making a conscious effort to learn new words, your vocabulary can gradually increase.

I've only read about 10 story books in my life time (not including those of which i was forced to read at school). I've read all 7 Harry Potter books and 2 Lord of the Rings books so an IQ score of 78 is not a surprise really. I lack interest in books unless it's based on my hobbies, and i don't really need to read text for my current hobbies anyway. So there you go, I chose to have a limited vocabulary.

I agree it's not a good verbal IQ test. Considering that "verbal IQ" doesn't just include vocabulary but also mathematics, logic, and verbal problem-solving, this is actually a vocabulary test, not an IQ test.

It makes sense that I'd score high on one of these because I use a big vocabulary to compensate for lack of non-verbal communication, just like you expect manual wheelchair users to have good strength in their arms.

I also read a lot, so I'm exposed to more words than most people.

Consider what an advantage a big vocab is to somebody with that skill profile, though: When most NTs can get their meaning across with a general word and tone of voice/body-language, an Aspie with deficient non-verbal communication might choose to use very precise words to get the same amount of meaning to the listener.

We are obviously assuming that the listener knows what the precise words mean; but in most cases, they do, because most peoples' recognition vocabularies are larger than their speaking vocabularies: Most people, for example, know what "deluge" or "cantankerous" mean even though they have never used the words themselves; so when someone who depends on specialized vocabulary uses them, the communication is successful even though there will almost inevitably be an unintentional impression of "nerdy" conveyed along with the message.

^ I also apparently have a talent for writing one-sentence paragraphs. ^

Sure.
I know I have a pretty good vocabulary.
This test was nothing much.
Always fun taking tests, though :)

Hmm... I'm guessing you'd be best off demanding extra testing time to accommodate a short attention span! :P

Yea i knew it was low, i had to ask my mother to pronounce the words, and put some of them in sentences, i got a few that way, i guessed on a couple asked her and she was always right, shes like a human dictonary lol. So yea oh well hahaha, win some lose some, if it was a signing IQ i would get a "gifted" on that hehehehe, only if the world worked the way i wanted it to lol, yea scary thought eh? haha

I got 110 but the pure vocab questions killed my score. I read plenty but I don't easily retain obscure words that you only see used once in a blue moon. I think I did much better on the analogies and reading comprehension sections.
