So today started with a nice argument with my husband... He ran out of diabetic supplies and I had to call the mail order company to send some but I'm afraid not being able to check his sugar now will lead to the hospital again. Anyway we were arguing about that he needs long term care, he said I was just trying to divorce him... And he would never accept going to a care home.

Then I had the job interview but I don't think that job is for me, I don't think I have what they were looking for.

Then I get home and get a phone call that one of my uncle's suddenly died today... My husband had the audasidy to say "well you weren't THAT close to him" he's my mother's brother for Pete's sake and I of course knew him all my life, my whole family is devistated...

My condolences on the loss of your uncle. Any loss in your immediate family is extremely difficult. :( I'm also sorry to hear about the rest of your bad day. Is it still possible you will hear about that Lansing job? If it's an hour away you could commute instead of having to relocate.

((Hugs))

I'm sorry about the death in the family. It does sound like an all-round horrible day.

That thing with the diabetic supplies is the kind of detail you wouldn't have to worry about if your husband was in care. But why can't he order the supplies himself?

I just had an idea for you about husband's care. Find out about home-based "palliative care," which is not hospice (though often provided by hospice companies) but just supportive care for those who have serious illness challenges. Workers would come out and set up his meds, be sure he has diabetic supplies, change his dressings, etc. It would be covered by Medicaid. This could allow him to live at home but with less demand on you. If you apply for this, mention you lack a functioning vehicle, which makes his need for the service greater.

Good luck, do some deep breathing during this difficult time.

The Lansing job... Still waiting to hear from them. The other DNR job that didn't turn out appropriate for me, it was a couple weeks after the job closed they contacted me for the interview and they said it normally takes awhile for them to choose who to interview.

Gach, Angnix! How do you manage so well under such circumstances?

My sympathies to your loss.
