Is this like a personality disorder or something?

So months ago after I had my car towed away with help from uncle... I asked for my birth certificate back which was in the car. He said "I have it in the glovebox of my van, it's safe." I didn't want to argue with him so I left it at that.

Today I sent him a simple message asking if he still had it and could he mail it back. He claimed he gave it to me. I said he didn't. Then he went off line. Then all the sudden his sister starts text attacking me saying if her brother said it than that is what happened and to order a new one. I said that cost money. She said "so you should have plenty of money" (no we don't)

Anyway I just quit fighting with her, but it's always been like this, whatever my uncle says is the "truth" and if you tell him he's wrong watch out! He claims he never does wrong. Some sort of disorder?

Probably some sort of disorder. And high potential for gaslighting. He always seemed like this.

You could get your birth certificate for $34. I know it’s expensive—but it’s a good investment.

yes, a totally typical case of gaslighting. it is pointless to argue, unless u could rummage their things, find what they claim they gave u, push their nose into it, and they still will try to lie. it is a horrible thing to meet. i am sorry it happens to u.

Yup, it's likely some sort of disorder on his side.
Are you able to keep your affairs away from him?

Part of the reason why I moved to another town a couple hours away... When we lived with him, he would open our mail and read through it, kept his house in horrible condition and told the rest of the family it was our fault, ask us for extra money to pay back bills and then just pocket it, manipulate the situation so that we were paying almost all the expenses, etc... And many of my relatives back/believe him and not us. My uncle is angry mostly because my husband didn't share any of his SSI backpay with him, claiming he deserved it for taking us in. My husband helped out a couple of my other relatives he felt truly helped us and truly deserved it but gave nothing to that uncle.

You're right to keep away from him.
How much do you think it fits: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissis ... y_disorder ?
