Started feeling down and quite jealous when I heard today about a friend getting a boyfriend. I seem to feel like whenever I hear that someone is seeing someone and going out with someone, I feel like I don't want to talk to them and avoid speaking to them. It makes me feel like everyone else (in family and friends) except me all have a girlfriend and boyfriend. It makes me wonder if will find someone when I'm not one to socialise at clubs, bars and stuff like that. I've been on a dating site and I don't get any messages and I can't seem to find anywhere besides clubs, bars and pubs to meet people. Once went on Meetup to find things like book clubs and stuff like that but they are usually gatherings where people discuss one particular book and that's it. I don't really want to go back into volunteering though either really because I've done it before anyway.

I don't know about feeling jealous of other people, but I do feel left behind, like in so many areas of life. And yes that also sucks obviously. I've said to some of my friends, you've dated alot of guys/girls and the response is: "I haven't dated lots of them, just some". Well if you say so, it's alot more than I have dated (just one abusive one, excluding one hookup w/a friend 5 years ago).

It sounds like you're trying at least in various arenas: dating sites, meetups and such are good places to start. The bar, club, etc scenes probably aren't your thing, as they aren't for alot of people (NT's included). And it isn't easy to meet someone in those kinds of places anyway, though alcohol can help some people to be more relaxed. The main thing is to keep putting yourself out there in as many arenas/spaces as you're willing to try. You need to be around people and get to know some of them to meet a potential partner or even just a friend (of whatever gender).

But the waiting sucks, I agree. I badly wanna be w/a girl for a long list of reasons and I often fear it'll never happen (for a different long list of reasons lol). But I guess you just have to keep trying and telling yourself my time, chance will come eventually. Try your best to use the single time in improving yourself or whatever, that definitely can help down the line in attracting someone. Good luck!

Yes but there are better things to be jealous of

Jealous of skinny smart handsome cisgender neurotypical white men

Marital status, is low priority

Though, all things equal, married is better than single
