A few have made me cry, but it’s been a long time since one has.

My advice to pregnant or new moms is: don’t read a book in which a baby dies. Just...don’t!

I don't want to read anything where a baby dies....and I can never get pregnant.....

A few books have evoked the waterworks.....

It’s always sad when a baby dies in a book, but it’s not usually to the point where one is sobbing uncontrollably.

It’s a sweet memory, though.

Yeah. Shortly after my friend committed suicide two years ago, I purchased her first novel, a murder mystery that took place in the Great Smoky Mountains. The beginning of the book was eerie because the search for the victim took place in the same area of the park where they found my friend's body. I just broke down and quit reading. I didn't continue reading it for two years.

It was. Also, it happened at a time when I was already going through a lot of other bad crap.

I cried like a baby last time I read the ending of Mill On the Floss by George Elliot. I tear up or get weepy with all kinds of books, though, in places you'd never expect.
