You have to decide what is most important to you, your religion or your gf. She has decided you can't have both so you have to make a choice.

Sounds like you've already made that choice.

Personally, I think that religion is a very personal matter that shouldn't be pushed on to others, yet this is what your girlfriend is trying to do. Is that really the kind of person you want to be with? Of course, if there are no other serious problems between you two, you should try to talk it out. Explain to her why you don't want to convert (religion is personal, but if you're planning marriage then it's good to be able to talk about that, too) and listen to her reasons of why she wants you to do it. Hopefully, you can come to an agreement.

Don't get married. Just carry on like normal without a marriage.

Might be that her parents are the real problem, they don't want her marrying into the Hindu faith or for her children not to be brought up as Christians. If it's not that, then it would mean her religion is more important to her than he is, or she's just using it as an excuse to move on.

If you or your GF are religious and hold your religious beliefs as important, for whatever reason.
Whether it be personal belief, cultural norms or parents belief.

You must decide what you want the most. Your faith or your relationship.

I know from my own experiences that such a decision can be extremely difficult to make, especially when you
are involved or "in love", and especially if there is attachment on both sides.

However, I recommend that if religion is a big part of your or your gf's life, you need to sincerely decide to convert or break up.

Personally, i went through an extremely distressing time being force converted to become a Jehovah Witness.
However, it wasn't for me and resulted in probably the most important period of my life being ruined.
Not only did i lose the best years of my life for this woman, but i have also lost my older and only brother due to an overdose as well as my reputation due to the slander that my ex-wife (who portrayed herself as a JW) spread with the people whom she cheated on me with. I did nothing wrong but have autism.

So to be honest, if you are religious, if i were you, I would look for a nice girl from your own religion.
Shouldn't be too hard in this world, as there are many multi million Hindu's.

I think what happened to me was a worst case scenario that didn't result in my death.
As i wasn't even religious, I am a free thinking free spirited person, a musician, an artist, a martial artist.

i went through years of force conversion to an extreme totalitarian religion which forced major restrictions. while being celibate. I was a good man, who did all he could to help people, only to have money and work stolen by a person who portrayed herself as saintly and then slandered to the world without reason or cause.

So. yep. I don't recommend such a relationship.
You are compatible with millions of woman, so if things don't fit right for what ever reason. if there are no kids involved etc. then move on and find someone more suitable. You will be happier for it, and not be constantly under attack from all sides.

Cheers

It could be her folks putting pressure on her. I can't get my head around religion getting in the way of a 7 year relationship as I'm not religious . As for an excuse ? maybe , sometimes it's easier to lie than the truth to spare feelings but what if her bluff is called.

Hi Maggi143
I believe that no one should try to convert another person as it does not work.
Acceptance of each other is the key.

Give her up. Conversions by marriage never really work out.

The OP is in India. Religion is usually not just a personal decision there and most marriages in South Asia are arranged. There could be a wide variety of social and cultural factors pressuring his partner and/or him. We'd probably have to know more in order to give him useful advice other than to find someone else if she's gonna be intransigent about the religion issue.

I had a 'friend' who I have known for near on 30 years. We became boyfriends some years ago even though I knew he was a Psychopath. I learned this by observation and research over many years.
Now I need to make it clear; please never think of all Psychopaths as the 'killer' type because they are not all like that.
They can be a friend, family member, neighbour or just a person in a crowd.
Check out YouTube videos on the meaning of a Psychopath.
Aspies tend to be very loyal and caring people and the Psychopath knows that and will feed off us. When he is finished with the person he is feeding off he will just walk away and go and feed off another.
For me it all became too much about one month ago and I asked him to leave and get his own unit.
I am happy with the decision I made and my life is going forward in leaps and bounds.

Hi Maggi143
Please disregard my above post. It was meant to be an extension of my previous post but it did not do as I had in mind.
If the administrator feels fit to delete my above post, I urge you to do so.
I am not suggesting for one moment that your GF is a Psychopathy.
Many sorry.

It’s amazing that the Abrahamic religions have survived this long....

I've done enough research to know Christianity and Asperger's do not mix.

Not so amazing as the fact that the Hindic religions have survived even longer.
