I heard a news story years ago about someone who travels for free by opening up credit-cards that give flyer miles for opening them.

Work for a travel agency/airline comes to my mind. Actually, I don't know how to travel for free but I know how to travel cheap. You can save a huge amount in booking the tickets and hotel in advance.

i think most ppl wNt to travel u know.. like taking a walk along the Seine or Thames or Danube or Mississippi or the Ganges u know.. for a majority of ppl one of the three top wishes of a hypothetical lottery win is to travel around the world .. since traveling is so expensive and wage is so stagnant and ppl r so angry = voting for a nationalist. qed ditto.

if one signs on uncle sam's dotted line, one can get transported "for free" to military bases in other nations. if one is a retired service member, one can "catch a hop" on an air force transport, to various other military bases, for free. that is a key perk.
