Hi fellow Aspies,

That's great! Now, if we could just get something like that in South Africa.....hopefully our autism / A.S. non-profit organisations here are working on something. I'd love to know how many Aspies here in S.A. are struggling to find work or they get bullied at work. (Just as a side-note, I now feel that I was teased to bits by this guy who has now left my workplace, and I think he just loved to get a reaction out of me, which he did, every time.)

I hope you guys get a lot of Aspies coming through the door!

Best of luck, Roy.

Sounds good. I have used schemes like this in the UK and they have really helped and mean that I have a good job with no bullying.

Unfortunate building number though!

I'd like to know, too.

I posted a job there.

I think it'd be really neat if I got to work with someone else on the spectrum.

My first impression is that this is too good to be true. But has anyone tried this and found success? If so then I just might give it a shot. Ive been looking for something like this as I was just about to start a thread about affirmative action. BTW, is it local to the NY area only? I live in PDX/Northwest.

This sounds like a good idea.

I think you would have better success if your webpage didn't look like it was from 1993.

There's also this one:
http://www.auties.org/about/

But not sure whether the jobs listing is any good yet either...

Amazing how that link you posted dumps us right into the middle of 'Autism Gift Center' first (where there are lots of shiny nice things for sale), instead of the 'Autism Job Placement Service' as you stated.

The proper link is:

http://www.nlconcepts.com/autism-jobs.htm

'Bait-And-Switch' much?

No, and such suggestions are unnecessarily rude. Thanks for the update.

Any other agencies out there? The one at nlconcepts.com seems to no longer exist.

But... but... what about all the people who don't want to actually have a job and support themselves? /sarcasm

Looks like a good resource.... if people actually had any work ethic and desire to stand on their own two feet.

What services does it actually offer? The link lands me on the store until I search around.

Who funds this group... is it a corporation, not a non-profit?

Has anyone found success from them?

As of today, 6/26/08, there are 107 job seekers and only 32 job providers.
Well at least it's a good idea, maybe it just needs more advertising.

This link now leads me back to the store.

It's hard to not assume that is spam, since every link now goes back to the store.

Did the job placement service just fail, or what?
