What happened? Why were there few (if any) actual roundups of illegal aliens this last weekend, as Mr. Trump promised?

Were all of the I.C.E. agents hanging out at the F.E.M.A. relief centers in Louisiana, waiting to arrest anyone who didn't look "American"?

Ya gotta wonder...

Supposedly, they're only going after the ones with deportation orders.

I doubt they have the resources to deport all the 2 million or so people who are under "deportation orders." This is just grandstanding on Trump's part. I believe they actually use certain people as "examples."

What they should concentrate on is people convicted of, say, sexual offenses.

Only an estimated 2,000 have deportation orders.

Most are are unknown to law enforcement.

According to a CONSERVATIVE publication, the Conservative Daily Post, there are 1.7 million people under "final, or near final" deportation orders.

It is true that under the Obama presidency, from 2009-2016, 2.9 million people were deported from the United States.

Until about 2 years ago, in New York City, anybody convicted of a violent misdemeanor (or more serious criminal offense) who was found to be an illegal alien was deported after serving his/her sentence.

Ok. I was relying on a news article.

"A Trump administration official confirmed Tuesday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will specifically target for deportation as many as 1 million people “who have been issued final deportation orders by federal judges yet remain at large in the country.”

Ah, but did they actually do anything, or was this only more bluff-and-bluster from the Demander In Chief?

What I don't understand is why one would announce the raids in advance. That makes no sense.

Just do the raids and issue a press release later.

Quite frankly, Trump has botched his whole thing.

These are people who have had their day in court, have had their Asylum hearing and have refused to leave voluntarily.
If laws are not enforced, USA will rapidly become similar to the very same countries from which the migrants are fleeing from.

ICE does many raids surreptitiously, without any publicity.

Trump's just "announcing" the raids for publicity's sake.
