What is mental age?

My sister told me that I have a lower mental age than physical age. She said that our parents told her that. She said they told her to look out for me. I hate it when she brings this up. My parents also bring it up.


I feel like it is not relevant. I have dated and I like teenager things. I just have a hard time with things other people find easy. I talked late and missed certain milestones. I am willing to learn stuff though, my parents don't teach me stuff though because they don't think I am capable. Some of my teachers think I am more capable than my parents do. I have more autonomy at school. My parents think too much about things like mental age. I don't consider myself to be that far behind. I am a bit in school though. I am graduating 3 years later than most people.
