I'm not posting this for sympathy (I am a survivor), but as explanation for my recent weirder-than-usual behavior.

This is the first I've been able to post on my mother's passing without shutting down. She was in her mid-eighties, and went in her sleep after a long bout with a failing cardio-respiratory system. She practically raised us kids by herself after dad's alcoholism and bipolar disorder became intolerable. She was a great woman, and I'll miss her.

I send my condolences.

I hope, at the end, there was no pain.

Thank you. She requested a DNR, and she received palliative care in hospice. She was in no pain.

I don't know what is best to say except that I am saying something here to say something. Is something which I really deeply feel for you in the circumstances and just don't know what to do.
So sorry to hear the news. May God be with you and keep you safe.

I'm doing well enough. My sibs were closer to her than I (physically and emotionally), but it's still hard to deal with the fact that she's gone -- better today than yesterday, but it's not something you ever completely get over.

Dad died about 15 years ago, and that is sometimes hard to deal with too, but I do deal with it, have my moment, and move on.

Thank you all for your condolences.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Hope you keep well.
Grief isn't much fun. But as you know, does improve in time to a greater extent.
At least your mother had a good long life. Which i imagine has some good memories.
Peace to you.

Sorry for your loss. Losing your parents is difficult, even as an adult yourself.

Sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. I've been struggling with my mother's loss for two years.

I'll talk to my mom for you. That's the least I can do I suppose.

Take a day off work if you can.
