Rom-com time.
Grandma's Boy (1922)--Awkwardness, yes. Awesomeness? Eventually. And Mildred Davis (Mrs Lloyd) is cute in this one, as usual. (She and her husband Harold made a nice team in the movies.)
Girl Shy (1924)--About social settings, connecting with people, a hidden crime--and romance (eventually)
The Kid Brother (1927)--Just how big a lie would you conceal? How much empathy is too much? And would you dare to see how much trouble it could get you in?
I think Lloyd was autistic in real life but it was not known back then. They're visually beautiful films anyway, and Harold Lloyd was good at playing the characters he did (they tended to look and dress the same but he would add different mannerisms to each role.)
Girl Shy is good because of the ignorance and callousness he displays at the beginning, which comes from his fear--of what? I don't know. But watching his not-very-smooth journey to maturity is a nice thing to see on the screen and fro a lot of people very relatable.
