As Heaven Weeps

A short poem by The Prince of Cherokee Roses

I see the skies, when heaven weeps
These trees they fade to dark

The gates are there, before the stars
That song of angel's harp

The sky is pink and orange, like peach
The air is sweet and warm

There grows a tree, fruit just for me
I hunger for something more

I'm wet with grief, I'm heavy with pain
It binds me to this soggy earth

A greenish hell, of war and hate
The sadness of our birth

O butterfly, who leaves the cocoon
Fly towards the golden pass

The birds are free, they flap their wings
I wish to fly from this grass

But if I leave, who would miss me?
Will we, oh we, still be?

Together reunited in the realm of love
As heaven weeps above the dark trees.

That's really beautiful, Cherokee, you seriously have a way with words.

I hope you will post a variety of forms -- haiku, sonnets, limericks, et cetera...

There once was a man from the south
Whose strength always came from his mouth

But one day he found -
as he was locked in a pound

That his knowledge of strength was a drouth

my aching back hurts,
my dragging ass burns.
i hate these sad words,
for how my world turns.
i'd rather be glad,
or at least neutral-
instead of half-mad,
as is usual.
heaven's nice, i hear-
up there are no fears-
eternal good cheer,
and also no tears.
until then i wait,
for final relief
high in heaven's sight,
that is my belief.
