So I was thinking. I have a very small YouTube channel. And I would like to ask for some ideas for topics to discuss in my videos. I mostly talk about movies, games, cartoons, and things like that. I really enjoy making these videos and, I would greatly appreciate any support I can get from others in the autism community. I would love for others who share some of my interest to join in on the fun. I like to start discussions with my videos. But as very small channel, it is hard to get people involved. Would you like to help? I am open to any and all suggestions. Keep in mind that I do not have access to better video editing software. I only use the old version of Movie Maker, it is all I have. Also I don't use much if any recordings of movies, games, cartoons and that kind of stuff. I just talk with various wallpapers in the background for most of my videos. I used to make a bunch of random gaming videos but none of those are important. It is my videos with titles like "My thoughts on" "My Top 5" and "My favorite" that I am focused on making. Those are the three types of videos I usually make now. Some examples, "My Thoughts on Spiderman and Venom" "My Top 5 Tanks from movies and game" And "My 5 favorite Anime Villains," among various other videos. So if you are interested in watching and even better joining the discussion by commenting, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much.

I am not really an expert, since I don't really make anything myself, but if you want my honest opinion, I do watch quite a lot. There is probably two types of videos you want to focus on, one being something topical that people are going to search for because something like news came out, the other might be something you like that might have like no or very few videos. Your trailer mentions things like comic books games and movies, but I myself am subscribed to many different channels that I get my fix, so maybe if you want someone to check yours out, you might need to offer something that another channel is not.

For instance, rather than simply saying something like "My Thoughts on Batman movies, cartoons and games", pick something specific, because everyone has seen and heard someone's opinion on the topic already, and kind of means nothing. Picking something off my shelf (at least it should be on my shelf but I don't know where it is) Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, it came out last year, and among Batman animated movies it is pretty unique, and by searching on YouTube you can have a look at the sort of videos that got good traction. None of them are something like "my thoughts", instead something like a why it is great video, top 5 of something in it, an event from it, or just what is it, and a lot more. Not saying that you need to copy them, in fact you maybe need to offer something that these do not, but some research, and a title that sounds interesting could help.

I believe that Batman: Hush came out recently, I do have that on my bookshelf, but have not watched it yet so I am not going to look up examples but I do suspect that might be a way to get traction of people searching things. Joker is also coming out soon also, pretty sure that it is going to be quite crowded, but there is something specific there. It is going to be up to you decide the identity of your content, since you maybe want some consistency among a few different things you can group into playlists, you might even be able to keep your "my thoughts" if people become interested enough by more specific topics to learn them.

And you probably should be careful to make the best first impression possible. I would like to figure out what channel it was, might have been something like Game Theory or something since he occasionally talks about things like algorithm, or perhaps a Left Tube video, but your visuals are gong to be second to sound. Sure video format is going to have some importance for what the visuals are, but bad sound will make someone instantly click away, I can attest to that as someone who half the time is barely looking at a video in favour of listening to it. So a good microphone is something you want over other fancy things, I sadly cannot remember the type from the video I watched, but it was something I am pretty sure was over $100 in some way. And having a space you can record well, you occasionally see people who do videos have foam on their walls, these actually do serve a purpose of reducing things like sound pollution and echo, I googled "recording foam" in google for some examples, but you probably do not need something as fancy, rather than be able to by the foam for cheaper and cut it yourself. Again, I am not really an expert, but I did hear from a bigger YouTuber that something like this can make your voice clearer and is going to stop someone from automatically click away.

I did watch your Lego Movie video yesterday, and I think that the music you used in it was a bit too loud, so you might want to hold up a bit with putting music through your video, especially if it is drowning out your voice. Maybe have it in an intro or something? And I don't exactly know what you are using already, but a script is important, along with cutting down on things like ums and ahs, of making your sentences clear and you know what you are talking about. Don't worry about needing to doing multiple takes, make it clear, and make it interesting. You did seem to acknowledge it that you mostly had Lego Movie 2 pictures in your video of the first one, despite not seeing the second one yet, because it was easier for you to find pictures of it. I probably don't have a good answer for this, especially where things like copyright might be concerned, but you definitely want pictures of the actual thing you are talking about, even if it is second to your sound.

I hope none of this feels like too much criticism, as you have passed the first steps of actually getting something out there, and I don't want to discourage you. I do hope that the name of your channel, DarthCyberBotBandicoot is also not too long, being four words crammed together without a space, not going to force you to change it or anything since it is your identity, just feels a little bit busy compared to most channels I watch. You should not be afraid of saying your names in your videos, especially if everything else falls together it might be enough for some further interest.

In terms of other topics, you also said that you appreciate support from the autism community, so do you think that there is something you can offer it? Something in your experiences that could set you apart from just a movie and game channel? No idea if this sort of thing would work, but as a fan of something like Batman and I assume someone on the spectrum, do you have your own experiences or thoughts on the villains in relation to mental health? The topic has always fascinated myself that sure the villains in Batman end up going too far, but many are suffering from things like mental health problems that give them their quirks and maybe make them a bit tragic. This would certainly be entirely up to your own interests and experiences but there could be something there. But I also don't want to force the ideas on you rather than topics that came to my mind, if I ever decided to take the plunge of my various interests of games, cartoons and movies of super heroes, fantasy, anime, eldritch horror, and other quirky stuff. It does need to be as interesting to you.

I have a few ideas for autism related videos, actually. I'll make a different thread to talk about that. But anyway thanks for the advice.
