I need a break from WP. Good-bye for a while.

As the title says I am leaving WP for a time. It may be a month, or it may be forever. I need to take a break.

What could be a wonderful resource for people of all sorts, instead is a festering cyst of everything I absolutely hate about 21st-century culture. For example:

Jeffrey Epstein is STILL dead. You do not have to raise his corpse, like a sort of Headless Horseman, and send it careening through the internet every single day. I use this as an example--the Politics, Philosophy, and Religion forum is nothing more than 10% real questions (is God actually benevolent?) and 90% partisan whining. We can all agree on that. I'm looking at a few of you mugs in particular--and YOU know who you are.

Psychoanalyzing "The Right" doesn't work when you don't hold their values. It is as feckless as Rush Limbaugh's near-daily characterization of "them stupid libs." People vote for whoever claims to defend what they believe in. That's that. If the Democrats could run somebody who was anti-Fascist, anti-Socialist, pro-life, and pro-gun then I would vote for them. If the Republicans run another Bush I'll go third party anyway. But I will not hold to letting people who don't even know me, tell me what I believe based on who I voted for.

At one time our brothers and sisters with gender dysphoria could receive treatment. Now we advise genital mutilation--and the Forum here seems to be right on board with it. We are not savages, WP--we are human beings! But obviously there is some basement-dwelling heap of lard who will dispute whether human beings are even that special in the grand scheme of things.

I wanted to ask questions about love, marriage, courtship--mainly love. But not in this website...Oh hell no. It's like trying to find couples counseling in a whorehouse. Hookup this, lonely that--Look, loneliness (at least what I experience) goes a lot deeper than anything that can be solved by sexual activity, so why patch the Hoover Dam with half-chewed bubblegum? Life is more than sex. That's a given. But here we seem to chase it like it's some kind of panacea of the gods, and it might be healthy or it might be a disgusting perversion, but we're tolerant jackasses here and stand for whatever. Also, the amount of "you need a divorce" posted on this forum is disgusting. On the Internet, nobody knows how much hurt they are causing another person by giving information to rip a (messed-up) family apart.

Ladies and gents, I love you--but goodnight. I've had it up to here. I'm quitting WP so I can write books, be Catholic, deal with being autistic, and just enjoy living in peace.

If anybody wants to get in touch, send me a PM. I'm keeping that up and running just because you all are really neat people. I just need a break for a while.

As rage quits go I'll give you 4/10.

WP can seem more like a debate club than like mutual assistance support group. And maybe "debate club" isn't the right term. Maybe its more like a "fight club" (the first rule about Wrongplanet is 'never talk about Wrongplanet').

But you can side step certain parts of WP, like the PPR, News, and the Loath and Hating forum to avoid the partisan bickering.

Borromeo, I will miss you, but I understand.

You need to decide what's best for you.

Two things:

1) WP is a secular site. It's a reflection of the broad range of current secular culture. I'm not saying that devout Catholics shouldn't be here or aren't welcome; however, it may have the same effect on your faith life as if you hung out in the local bar/pub every night.

2) Steer clear of the PPR thread if it upsets you for the simple reason that it's a very small group of the same people who participate in circular arguments and those people will go down with their respective ships no matter what due to their unshakable convictions.

You make mention of the fact that there are nice people here. Hopefully you can accept that there is good here as well.

Interestingly, that's also the first rule of getting laid; don't mention WP. The second rule of getting laid; don't mention WP.

I was referencing the Brad Pitt movie "Fight Club". The teasers have them telling Brad Pitt that rule. The joke I was attempting being that maybe we all should just make WP a secret society, and just continue to beat the crap out of each other, and not even pretend anymore that the site has any other purpose. Lol!

Not sure how you leapt from that movie scene to "getting laid". Somehow weren't not on the same page.

I almost left because of all the Nazi threads. People think that everyone who supports Trump is a Nazi. People think that people who feel a love for Germany are Nazis. People think that war supporters are all Nazis. I'm all three of those things, but I'm not a Nazi. I've changed my avatars back and forth quite a few times because there are some members who see me as a Neo-Nazi. I'm not playing their games anymore. I'm changing my avatar back to the things that are closer to my heart than Britain.

I agree with you, Wrong Planet has become a very toxic website full of bullying trolls who get away with murder. It's not just in the PPR and News boards either. For a 'support group' for autism this place has a lot of jerks. Most of the decent members have either quit coming here or they visit less and less.

Wrong Planet now represents everything I hate about 21rst century culture too, although what I hate about it is different than what you hate about it. I'm so goddamn f*****g sick of everything being about Trump! Trump! TRUMP!! !

This website is no longer about autism.

There's lots about autism in the "General" subforum.

You see lots of Trump! Trump! Trump! in the News or PPR subform.

And in the Random Discussion subforum and Members Only subforum.

If it's not about Trump then it's always about other political and religous issues.

And people here get VERY nasty about it!

Yeah....they do get nasty.

I tend not to respond when it gets ridiculous like that. There's usually a few Conservatives who argue with a few Liberals. And they try to one-up each other, using rhetorical techniques.

You can have fun, definitely, playing games in the "Random" section.
