Ya, I get extremely awkward when in the nut section, or occasionally when deciding on what chocolate to buy.
I don't know if it's to do with information overload - all the choices. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, macadamias, brazil nuts, cashews, peanuts... dried, salted, peeled, sugared, with shells... mixed, unmixed, different regions, different sizes.... it DRIVES ME CRAZY!! !
all I like, to varying degrees, but of course the most preferred ones tend to be more expensive. So that leaves to considerations on what other items I need to buy. And then I start to feel like people are watching me, and many times they are, because I stand so long looking at the nuts.
A few times I've had meltdowns in the nut section and chocolate aisle. I just need to 'get out' and leave without buying anything, even though I desperately needed items like bread and vegetables.
In fact I am certain it is information overload. How many others have this issue?
I detest shopping due to the noise, social interactions, but also because of the information overload.
I wish they'd just put the different types of nuts and chocolate at the end of each aisle, or only have one type to choose from per shelf. This is why sometimes I prefer smaller supermarkets - even though the prices are higher and the quality not as good, it is easier.
