What are people's thoughts on the Trump whistleblower scandal.I have not seen anyone post on this yet.It now appears to relate to Trump asking for Biden's son to be investigated. It appears to involve Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

Donald Trump's lawyer and attack dog Rudy Giuliani has accused Joe Biden of bribing the Ukrainian president to fire a prosecuter who was investigating Biden's son.

This story of Biden's corruption has been known for at least six months. The idea that it is somehow appearing now as a Trump scandal (imagine!) show how desperate the leftwing media has been to protect Biden all this time.

Joe Biden's 2020 Ukrainian nightmare: A closed probe is revived
(From April 2019)

Two years after leaving office, Joe Biden couldn’t resist the temptation last year to brag to an audience of foreign policy specialists about the time as vice president that he strong-armed Ukraine into firing its top prosecutor.

In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

“Well, son of a b***h, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event, insisting that President Obama was in on the threat....

But Ukrainian officials tell me there was one crucial piece of information that Biden must have known but didn’t mention to his audience: The prosecutor he got fired was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden’s younger son, Hunter, as a board member.

The Biden scandal may be older but the whistleblower scandal deals with whether Trump said inappropriate things to a high level world leader on an unsecured line, his own I phone.thats the new scandal

Trump was getting close to exposing the Biden family crime syndicate, which means he was getting much too close to Obama, so the LeftistDNCMedia once again cooked up a fraud to try to shut him down. Rinse, repeat.

Trump is planning to release his phone call with the Ukrainian president. He must be pretty confident that he did nothing wrong.

I don't believe there are enough votes to convict should Trump be impeached.

There would have to be 67 votes for impeachment. That means 22 Republicans and/or Independents would have to vote for conviction, in addition to the 45 Democrats.

Yep which makes it all political grandstanding and a risky proposition. Democrats need to produce some compelling evidence or it will look really bad on them.

It must be remembered that impeachment is not a conviction. It is very similar to an indictment.

If Trump is impeached, he is being "indicted" for the impeachable offenses. Then, he is put on trial by the Senate.

The “indictment” is known as the “articles of impeachment.”

president Trump is wasting no time in attempting to torch Nancy Pelosi's impeachment gamble.Trump has pledged to publish a redacted and declassified transcript of the phone call with Ukraine's leader at the center of what democrats allege is an abuse of power.

But pelosi has argued that Trump's public admission that he spoke with Zelensky about Biden in itself is an abuse of power by a president seeking foreign help to win an election.

The latest from CNN

"Self-impeached" does not mean "self-convicted."
