The excesses of the left
Though I'm on the left, I am annoyed by some things on it. I'm annoyed by the "What is your preferred pronouns?" thing, which was lampooned in this hilarious video:
I also think the concept of trigger warnings is ridiculous, as was lampooned in this video:

Since we are from another planet but had to mask all these years I DEMAND NT's call us species fluid.

I don't really understand the association between providing content warnings (a mainstream practice) and the left, or between respecting people's genders and the left. There are sensitive, tolerant people right across the political spectrum, and likewise there are bigots right across the political spectrum.
I'd say the excesses of the left are things like:
- calling for private industry to be banned
- calling for an end to growth
- calling for the rich to be taxed punitively
- calling for the nationalisation of industries that are not natural monopolies
- calling for "profit sharing"
- calling for the seizure of shares in successful companies by the government
- Calling for more “correct” pronouns for people, when they only add to the confusion the Left has already generated.
- Categorizing people by how they subjectively identify themselves, rather than how they can be objectively identified by others.
- Criticizing gun ownership when automobile accidents cause more deaths each year.
- Demonizing all men for the egregious crimes of a few.
- Demonizing all “white” people for the egregious crimes of a few.
- Denigrating anyone whom they feel is not “woke”.
- Denigrating women who freely choose to be stay-at-home mothers.

There is a difference between content warning a mainstream practice and bullying for the purpose of language policing an excess of the left. Content warnings became a mainstream practice to protect children from entertainment material or art they are not equipped to handle, that is different from censoring in adult spaces designed to prevent triggering or to push an agenda which is infantilizing them.
- Categorizing people by how they subjectively identify themselves, rather than how they can be objectively identified by others.
Going beyond the question of if there are 72 genders it is not possible for most to remember them all and often it is not possible to tell by looking at a person. So scolding people for misgendering is often scolding them for being understandably confused and scolding them for not doing the impossible.

I would say, however, that much of right is also adopting postmodernism, like the Trump Administration's insistence on "alternative facts." And in fact, I would say that with the insistence on facts and moving away from the type of stuff I mention in my OP, and on the insistence on specific policies like universal health care and working toward them that much of the left is moving away from that.

I think Helen did talk about that a bit, not in identical terms but how the wrong elements in the right like this conflict and want to cash in on it (more in the US than the UK because apparently having a robust socialist party in the UK helps act as a bulwark to keep the reactionary left out).

Merely calling for anything surely can't represent the excesses of anything. In practical terms you could point to the Soviet Union or to North Korea, but the former no longer exists and the latter is an outcast state. In any case at least one or two of those are open to interpretation; an Ayn Rand adherent's viewpoint on what represents 'punitive' taxation is going to be quite different from that of most others. 'Profit-sharing' is arguably already done by the likes of those multi-billionaires who provide much of their wealth to charity.
Using the 'proper' pronoun is stupid. If you don't use the proper pronoun, the other person will feel legit to send you Orion vibrations. Sending Orion vibration to other people is not the way to deal with that s**t.
A good mind is a lot of internal work. These "left" people what the rest of the population to work out for them for free. The mind is in the interior of the body, so it's the interior of the body who must do the work.
Lefticism is just a facet of a more nefarious plan to make us like them : cellular automatons. They failed, and are not even smart enough to realize it.
As I said, a good mind is a lot of internal work.
