US Presidential candidate Andrew Yang has openly admitted in public that he has an Autistic son.
Simply by doing that, Autism is getting more exposure in National and International media spotlight.
This will lead to more positive opinion, and more enlightened understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Recently activist Greta Thunberg was criticized as a “mentally ill” girl, and it is still a common misconception.
As Andrew Yang becomes more popular around the country, I don’t think they will be calling his son “mentally ill”
If this trend continues, there will be a more positive public opinion, and support for people on the Autistic Spectrum.
Yang said he will continue to talk about Autism, and wants to provide Federal resources to parents with Autistic kids.
