For those who support abortion what about BIID people who desire to get one of their legs amputated? Should they be allowed to get an amputation? It is their body, right? Many people who support abortion because it's her body would object to allowing BIID people to get a leg amputated. And a leg is not a living being that is being killed unlike a fetus.

Sure.

If the patient is cleared via mental health assessment and is healthy enough to survive the surgery, then yes.

There are other issues that immediately come to mind though - mostly regarding receiving government disability and work accommodations. That's a rabbit hole I imagine I could go down but don't have time to do the digging at the moment. Luckily, BIID is an extremely rare disorder.

Questions:

1) Are you cis-male or cis-female? We seem to get a lot of cis-males who object to abortion, even though it is extremely unlikely that a cis-male would ever need one.

2) What about cis-males/cis-females who identify as the opposite sex? Even though their reproductive organs are not living beings, should the people be allowed to undergo gender-corrective surgery? After all, it’s their bodies, not yours.

3) Should a husband need written permission from his wife (mother, sister, aunt, et cetera) to use a condom or undergo a vasectomy?

4) Should a wife need written permission from her husband (father, brother, uncle, et cetera) to use birth-control or have or undergo bilateral tubal ligation?

5) To whom does your own body belong?

6) Do you own any other bodies besides your own?

Now, don’t go off saying my questions are irrelevant, because a lot of hypocrites will deny that any woman can own a man’s body while also claiming that men should be allowed to control what women do with their bodies.

Well?

You never mention the fact that abortion is killing a living being. People who support abortion like to deny that is the case by never mentioning it. Why is it so bad for people to object to killing?

Yes, people should be allowed to undergo gender-corrective surgery. It doesn't involve killing.

The abortion issue is packaged and sold by the right-wing as "savings lives," and yet it is collectively conservatives who refuse to back (among other things) universal health care, funding for easily available birth control and sex education, and maternity/paternity leave.

And since you mentioned "abortion killing a living being" what is your stance on IVF, where eggs are collected and fertilized in a lab and then transferred to the uterus? Of course, you are aware that this process can involve embryos that are not selected to be implanted, and are either frozen or discarded. In fact, in 2012 the Telegraph estimated that approximately 1.7 million human embryos created for the IVF process have been discarded. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health ... -away.html

It's important to note, IVF is not cheap. It's a very expensive process, one that few can afford, and they are more likely to be white and well-off.

It's also important to note... no one is picketing IVF clinics. They're picketing and attacking the Planned Parenthood clinics, clinics that are frequented by poor women, often of color, who cannot afford health care. Certainly, they could not afford even one IVF treatment, which costs more than $12,000 per cycle.

Now why would that be? Why the focus on one, but not the other?

It's pretty easy to see that one process benefits the rich, while the other process benefits the poor. But only the one benefitting the poor is demonized.

So let's not pretend that the abortion issue is about saving babies because quite obviously it's not. The abortion issue is about systemic racism and the oppression of poor women. People need to stop with that "saving lives" garbage because that's what it is - it's a myth that continues to be propagated by the oligarchy.
