Carl Sagan was a sciencist and a writer. He's best known for taking on complecated science ideas and writing articles/books on them in lay mans terms so *the masses* could understand. He died about 10 years ago.

I assume Dissenter was reseaching something and found Sagan's explanation on it was less than clear?

Or maybe he gave the game away and now EVERYBODY would be able to understand it? That it is no longer for those who understood it without aid and Morlock is upset because the jig is up? Science isn't just for the geeks anymore???

Similar to how, anyone can be a sports hero as long as they take steroids? Ich habe keine Ahnung.
