It means that they think you look skinny and weak -- nothing more.

Are you complaining or looking for advice?

Well I was just making a point that if you use weight machines at the gym you should get heavier and more muscular not stay skinny :?

It depends on the intensity and frequency of your sessions. An hour or two once or twice week probably won't work. Three or four hours every other day probably will. If your muscles aren't "screaming" by the end of each session, or if you haven't even cracked a good head-to-tow sweat by then you are probably taking it too easy. Seek the advice of a professional.

Do you think 156 pounds is skinny for a 5ft8 guy?

At least you're not fat.

It's not particularly skinny.

I lifted weights for a full year once. It did nothing for my physique.

And "barely 5 foot 8" is not particularly short, either. I'm not even "barely" 5 foot 5 LOL

How much did you weigh when lifting weights?

I am convinced women prefer fat boys too really skinny guys

I don't think 5 foot 8 and 156 pounds is really skinny.

You can be 5 foot 8 and weigh 120 pounds.

A very famous bowler was 5 foot 7 and weighed 125 lbs all through his career.

Taste differs from person to person, but generally speaking, I don't think that's true at all.

I weighed in the 140s at my peak back when I was lifting weights.

What do you think stopped you from changing your physique through weight training?

I don't know. Perhaps I wasn't lifting heavy-enough weights.

But it's better to lift weights for endurance than to gain muscle.

Some people, no matter how hard they try, just can't gain muscle.

I think you also did mention it didn’t change women’s attraction towards you.

I suppose you need a mixture of social skills too impress women

"Going to the gym" alone will not improve your "prospects."
