I thought since I was lonely that at least I could read romance novels and watch romantic movies. Found a new YouTuber that is the same age as me and very hot. But this is just making me more lonely and depressed!! ! Because I will never meet these people in real life or get to love them.

My mom keeps saying to get involved in groups. Well, there are no groups in this town to join that are any good. I’ve tried some. And hated them. So I don’t know how the hell Im going to meet anyone. Im so lonely and bored. I’m not really sure how to better my life. I’m not a strong person and don’t want to volunteer. For all those other lonely souls out there, I’m sorry we have to go through this...Back to staring off into space.

Certain YouTubers, especially if they were female and sex-positive, made me depressed because I’ll never get to be with them either so I had to unsubscribe from them.

I would not unsubscribe but at least I don’t take the guy seriously any more. At first he influenced me to drink more because he did so in his videos. But then I came to my senses after he had us hanging for 30 hours with a preview and the actual video only turned out to be 8 minutes long.

Why don't you try dating each other and then you won't be lonely anymore? :D

Generally two people need to have more in common than just being lonely for a relationship to have long-term potential.

No reason that it couldn't work, just you're setting the expectation too high, too soon. Perhaps they'll have more in common if they get to know each other though; no promises.

Yes Mark is smart but I don’t know if we have stuff in common. It also doesn’t help he lives in Texas. I’m not moving all the way down to Texas.

It doesn’t have to be for dating but we can try listing things just for the fun of it.

I don’t blame you for not wanting to move to Texas. You have to be born here or be willing to put up with a lot of stupid crap although I have seen some people who hate living in blue states want to move here because they think it will be an utopia of sorts.

Something similar happens to me. Not that I have any desire to be with any other particular person, but witnessing celebrations of frivolous and easy acquisition of intimacy come across a bit painfully.

And the advice I've been given by those types usually demonstrates a significant lack of insight and often contains substantial internal contradictions when investigated. Everyone who thinks themselves successful has advice, few understand what they're talking about. Just saw a bit of it a second ago...

I don’t think he has the means to do that or he would. I’d like to get out of this town but can’t.

Ah, I'm in Ontario. There's a lot of folks from out east in the area though, especially Newfoundlanders and Nova Scotians.

I've noticed, although some of us might just not mention it often enough for others to notice.
