I've only been doing this for a few years but I find it helps and takes a some of the pressure off the pressies I get from other people.

I've been generous to myself this year, two are history books.

I was at a used bookstore earlier today to look for a present for my mom. I didn't find anything she would have liked, but I happened upon a copy of a book called Lincoln's Bodyguard which asks the question; the question being: What would post-Civil War America could have been like had Lincoln survived his assassination?

The book was only two dollars, so I bought it.

I’ve bought a copy of the John Waters film Polyester on blu-ray and two books: Death In Venice and Other Stories by Thomas Mann and The Age of Surveillance Capitalism by Shoshana Zuboff.

Nothing, but there's this novel series of four books that I've really wanted for a while now. Mentioned it to my sister so she'll probably get it for me for Christmas.

I bought myself an agreement with the family for two days alone before Christmas.

That sux. Mine cr@pped out a couple years ago & I had to buy a new power supply. Thankfully it only cost me around $50 for a used one on eBay & my parents gave me a check for $50 cuz they felt sorry for me & I buy things for them online that they pay me for cuz they don't feel comfortable making online purchases themselves.
I need to buy a new phone this year. My phone fell the day before Thanxgiving & it doesn't work now. It was pretty old anyways thou. I was still using a Droid 4 cuz I liked having the physical keypad but lots of things didn't work well with it so I've really been needing to buy a new one anyways. I'll just have to bite the bullet so to speak & settle for not having a physical keypad. I'm not sure what phone to get thou. I definitely want another android phone but not sure after that.

No presents for me this year, but maybe I’ll buy some art supplies and books in a couple months.

I haven't bought myself anything but I did win some things in contests that I consider to be my Christmas presents - books, computer games and the Mirror's Edge game collectible edition (this time without the very game):)

I bought a few work lights & cords etc at a Boxing Day sale at a tool store. Paid $100 or so for what would have been about $270 at regular prices.

That’s about it - the only other thing I could say I bought myself are the priceless reactions to the gifts I gave.. which were nothing short of awesome this year. Absolutely nailed it with so many gifts big & small, from the $ for a camera for my friend to my neighbour’s favourite bottle of rum. (coincidence, if I knew it I’d forgotten - I just picked out what I felt was right.)

Although, I do get to buy myself a new window and trim for my car since some crackhead woman smashed it and broke in very early Christmas Eve morning around 1am just before I got back to my car. Cops were called, they’ll check cameras and possibly charge her, but I highly doubt the insurance company will be able to recover my $300 deductible from her and chances are I’m just out that money.
