I am going to attend another anime convention like I did near the end of last year. I just hope I am socially successful this time around but if I am not, it will be another year that ends in failure.

It's funny:

When I was a kid in the 1960s, there was this cartoon called "Speed Racer" which I liked.

Only recently did I find out that "Speed Racer" is actually Anime.....

It’s an Americanized anime. It’s called Mach GoGoGo in Japan.

I hope you have fun.

Do you cosplay?

Sometimes people will come talk to you because they like the character you dress up as (or if they are dressed as another character from the same show).

This is definitely true and will probably increase your chances. I took a picture with a bunch of cosplayers when I went to comiccon.

Good luck with it! Try to have fun too instead of thinking of it as just a social test... by the way, what would need to happen in order for you to count yourself having been socially succesful?

Yup, I cosplay and this is a way I get random people talking to me sometimes... of course, it depends a lot on from what series you're cosplaying from, 'cause if no one knows the character their attention won't be drawn to your custome unless it's really eyecatching.

And if you don't cosplay yourself, you can start conversations with people who do about the series they're cosplaying from. Just make sure you actually know something about the series instead of just knowing that particular character.

Go as Eeyore and people will be blown away by your dedication to that character.

(I just realized that could work - you could speak your mind and say what you were feeling and girls would probably find it cute!)

If he cosplays as Eeyore he can talk about his feelings all he wants and girls will think he's in character - he could get girls numbers then!

I'm a genius! :D

American girls might - they cosplay as all sorts of things and find cosplay to be very creative and cute.

If he talked about depression, they would just think he was in character.

I don't think it's a good idea. Eeyore wasn't having trouble getting girlfriends nor lived around very religious people.

Eeyore wasn't trying to get a girlfriend either, and people seemed to have a "live and let live" attitude in the Pooh-niverse.

Yeah but Eeyore is cute - and he's just going to an Anime convention where people no doubt dress up as cartoon characters as well. :P
