No one cheered for me at graduation ceremony

Earlier I watched the footage of my name being called and me walking across the stage at my HS graduation ceremony last May. I’ve known this before, but I’ve been reminded of it again after re watching it: even with my dad and my uncle(my mom was there too, but didn’t make any noise for some reason. Lol)making noise, I could still tell that no one else in the building cheered for me. Several other people got a lot of cheers when their name was called. Certainly doesn’t make me feel good about myself, especially since I’ve known a lot of these people since 7th grade and I’ve made my efforts over the years to fit in.

I don't know if anyone cheered for me, since no one made a recording. No pictures, either. In fact, I waited until the athletic field was almost empty before I finally had to admit to myself that my parents and other relatives had already left. When I got home, it was as if the day was just another day, and that nothing special had happened.

I moved out of my parents' house a week later.

Don't base your self worth on some stupid High School graduation, as if the lack of applause from the most shallow, petty and immature age group will ever mean anything in the grand scheme of things. High schoolers cheer people based on popularity, and popularity in high school is like popularity in a pack of apes - no meritocracy but based on petty cliques, stupid drama and other shallow stuff it's best you dont mind. A king doesn't feel bad about himself or herself because in a throng of rabble he isn't their favorite; rather the king stands above the rest and makes his mark on the world for those of greatness and high caliber to appreciate. You're never going to amount to anything in life you base your worth on some stupid metric as high school popularity. make your self worth based on actual indices that denote value and find something you're great at and let that define you.

I just cheered for you now. I hope you heard me.

Congratulations on graduating. High school is an awful environment and you made to the end and you're out of there - that's the important thing.

I've never been to a graduation ceremony where people cheered for individual graduates.

I saw one on tv once -- local high school for the town that it was in. I thought the behaviour was wierd.
