Getting harassed

I filled out the paperwork to get housing. Just need proof of payment then I can pass them in. A guy living here said he filled out the same papers from the housing authority but still hasn't heard back from them in a year. There is a crazy guy leaving mean notes on my cupboard door. The most recent one says "dumb f*****g b***h!" The notes are getting meaner and nastier. I am now scared of this guy. I think he's crazy and don't know why he is mad at me. He was in the mental hospital when I was staying in there. He has done other wierd and mean stuff that was directed at me too.

I want there to be a way to get out of here sooner because I no longer feel safe here.

It seems like the quickest way out of here would be to get full time work so I could afford an apartment. But my mental and physical problems are a barrier. It seems insane that I’m forced to live in a dirty unsafe environment due to lack of affordable housing.

I would inform your landlord that this guy is leaving harassing notes.

If they threaten bodily harm, I would get the police involved.

At least you got your paperwork in, and are on the waiting list.

He seems coherent enough that he talks to other people here and convinces them that he’s sane. So maybe he’s just a bully? I can’t tell. I will tell the landlord when he comes to collect the rent and show him the offensive note.

I might end up in a mental hospital or woman’s shelter. There was a stupid note on the counter with garbage around it saying “you want the bags you deal with the garbage.” I’m assuming this is another note from the crazy guy, since he’s the only one that takes out the garbage. He must think I’ve been using the blue bags that are provided for the house, to use as my laundry bags since I do use them to do laundry at my parents. But I don’t take blue bags from this house I take them from my parents. Well if he doesn’t want to deal with the garbage that’s understandable. But there are over 11 people in this house. And a lot of the time they don’t separate their garbage. There is no staff to look after the building. That’s why it’s so dirty here. I can’t deal with 11 crazy people’s garbage. I also can’t deal with these mean notes he’s leaving. I called the landlord and left a message complaining about the crazy guys behaviour. I also got the rest of my paperwork for housing done (unless it turns out I need more) and will pass it in tomorrow.

No. Like I said this place isn’t staffed. The landlord sometimes gets after people to clean up a bit. But he’s only here at the end of the month. And he never seems to care if someone is leaving dirty dishes pile up in the sink or the fridge never gets cleaned out. And I don’t want to be everyone’s maid.

^ That's weird; I thought all types of group homes had set rules even if they varied greatly from place to place... or am I misunderstanding something and it's not actually a group home?

I don’t believe Sarah lives in a group home, per se.

It’s not a group home it’s a rooming house. It is a house being shared by about 11 people or more that’s all. There are no written down rules or chore charts. There is no staff to look after the place. Which is really scary since there are people in here with mental problems.

I figured so much.
