I want company so I've been staying overnight with my uncle and roommate sometimes... But his place is in a bad area... Drug deals in front of his apartment, blood spatter on the ceiling... They found a bedbug yesterday, the people in the apartment above have loud sex lol... only good thing is a good bird watching area nearby 8O

Man, any ideas of better places to hang out lol?

Oh, and the van exists, getting it legal next month, then maybe I can go places...

Stay at your own apartment and get a dog.

Enjoy this time on your own.

Please don’t be walking around a dangerous neighborhood!

Bugs, noisy, creepy - I would get out asap, but be careful that you don't bring the bedbugs home!
Glad to hear the van is real!

Good to hear the vans real, have you checked that it’s working?

That sounds like an unsafe neighbourhood, if you’ve got the option of living elsewhere I too would recommend not staying there.

I’ve lived in a dodgy area with company, and in a nicer area without company: the second was much better for my mental health over the long run.

You could try shared accommodation I suppose, or having a short-term lodger at your own place... although my experience of that sort of thing is, depending on who you live with, it can be worse that loneliness.

Volunteer in a charity shop for a few hours a week?

Find a friendly human to have bird-watching sessions with?

Take to going to the same coffee shop at the same time on the same day every week?
(You become a regular and the staff do light, superficial chat with you)

Yeah, when I lived on my own for the first time it was weird for a while: particularly in the evenings.
Restless and uncertain what to do for a while. I did a lot of very complicated drawings after a while!
Could you embark on a creative project to keep yourself occupied at something?

Bedbugs don't make very good pets. Not easy to train.

You could get a trainset? A trainset and a cat. Cats love chasing trains through tunnels!

Bedbugs are no bueno. We had to deal with them last fall. Stay out of there till they get rid of the bugs.

Knowing my uncle, he'll just live with them... He did before, and he got angry with me too when I saw through his manipulation and refused to cave into it this time, so I don't think I'll be going to his place anytime soon.

I would be out of there because of the bedbugs. It's not worth it. I had a friend who had fleas. One jumped on my bare leg in the summer and in mid-sentence I turned and walked briskly out the door.
