I have trouble lower my voice. I think my mom sometimes says she can't stand my voice because of how loud I can talk. And here's something that makes it more complicated: a phone friend who I don't know very well has said doesn't like her voice because she is trans and has said she wishes she had my voice. Also sometimes in the past people say I sing sound. But I don't think so. I find strange what different people say about my voice because I wish everyone could say the same thing about it. lol

Your voice is a precious asset. Be blessed in that you have a special quality. Volume!

Well, yes and no. When I realize I'm being too loud, I can lower my voice just fine. The problem is that I often don't realize it.

It's an issue in job interviews. The trouble is that I don't know that it's as loud as it is.

I have the voice of a DJ at an old easy listening station, and I often project as one, often unknowingly.

I have trouble finding my voice. Or raising it.

I’m generally very quiet, have difficulty starting sentences verbally and people can struggle to hear me.
But if I’ve been in a loud environment (like the theatre a couple of weeks ago) I’ll be chatting happily away and my wife will point out I’m shouting...

I have trouble lowering my voice. Also, the more enthusiastic or happy I am the louder it gets. I get called out to lower my voice all the time by my friends and family. I wish I could lower it but its hard to lower my voice AND be enthusiastic at the same time.

Yes. I've been told I speak too loudly and tend to speak at the same volume all the time without realizing I am being too loud. I can lower my voice, but I usually have to whisper if I am asked to be quieter. I either whisper or I am too loud.

I practiced a lot vut still have trouble modulating. Either cannot speak up at all no matter how urgent... Or too verbose and loud....

To practice

you can record your voice , reading or saying something, n rewind it to try and see how it comes across to you (as best u can) ... Then do that again and again. Thats what I did for years... Tape recorder... Still do it but used phone app voice record.

It helps to remind you and recalibrate .. Bcuz its not a permanent fix.

Taking voice and articulation and speech classes in college helped me. Unfortunately it had the side effect of making me intolerant of people who are too loud or too quiet or sound immature.

Definitely. Growing up, my parents were always telling me to talk less loudly, and recently it's been coming up in my performance reviews at work. Always been a challenge for me.

I've heard that voice volume is very frequently a problem for people with ASD, but it's not always that it's too loud like it is for you and me; some people with ASD actually have trouble that they're always talking too quietly!
