ANGRY!!

I'm effing pissed off at a certain airline that sent two of my nephews to clean the interior of a plane (as part of a cleaning team), and then told them that at least one of the passengers on-board had tested positive for the SARS-CoViD-19 virus -- AFTER THEY HAD FINISHED CLEANING!!

None of the workers had been issued any safety gear -- no masks, gloves, hand-sanitizers, et cetera. None of them had received any training on how to protect themselves, and none of them had any fore-warning that anything was amiss.

No one is telling me the name of the airline because of "pending legal action".

Fortunately, I have not seen any of them since January, and I am not likely to see them again until April.

BUT I AM EFFING PISSED!!

Can't blame you. The airline has a duty to be upfront about safety and are seriously at fault here.

This is happening in the UK too... my son works at Heathrow and has mentioned similar things ... I was shocked at the lack of information they were given, lack of gloves, and care for staff etc ...

The wonderful world of manual labour

It's like "no-skill workers" not being given paid sick leave or treatment coverage.

Eventually, the chickens are going to come home to roost.

Law.
Suit.
Losing money is the only thing big companies understand.
That, and bad publicity, because that can cost them money.
Make them pay for that mistreatment.

Fnord, that was a serious suggestion; how much $ would it take for them to consult an attorney?
Have any co-workers been exposed to dangerous diseases, body fluids, substances (drugs) that supervisers knew about?
A class-action suit might force some VERY bad/hazardous practices into the light.

The saying I always heard when I worked at NRaD RDT&E Div Det Warminster was “The mission is more important than men.”

Change that now to “Money and profits are more important than those that contribute to those profits.”

In short, workers are nothing more than piss ants, and are to be disposed of at all costs.”

If you think a class-action suit will punish the offending party, think again! The offending party has a huge war chest. The only people getting rich are the attorneys involved.

No one really gives a damn anymore about anything.

As for me, I’ve given up. I’ve lost all faith in this country and it’s government to do anything right. It still surprises me that I get a SSDI payment every month, and Medicare pay most of my medical bills. It might not do so for much longer, if the current resident jackass of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC has his way.

I used to work with a guy some 40 years ago who stated that instead of this country being “of the people, by the people, and for the people”, it is “of the rich, by the rich and for the rich, and everyone else can go to hell!” I used to cuss him out seriously for having that attitude. Unfortunately, he was right!

I am glad they have lawyers; I hope they have proof.
Perhaps the attorneys are interviewing co-workers who were also endangered by unethical, illegal demands. If (when) a settlement is offered, I hope they do not have to sign a ‘non-disclosure’ paper.
