To recap my husband's death, he first had a surgery (neck fusion) in November that left him mostly paralyzed in his right arm/hand. While he was in the nursing home doing physical therapy he caught pneumonia and stuff and almost died more than once before eventually dying.

But a nurse told me that he has a brain stem injury from the surgery along with the paralysis and that in fact was causing him to die, not the pneumonia/heart failure.

Now I have an uncle that is paralyzed in both arms... I didn't know why, but I found out today he ended up that way after having the same surgery... And shockingly... Done by the same doctor!! !

My uncle said he wants me to get ahold of the nurse at first to get more details, so I'm trying to contact her.

This sounds like a bad doctor possibly...
