Don't be too sad - you may have have a specialised skill or two that others don't have. I ca only drive an automatic vehicle and haven't done that for years either, so I need to renew my licence if I want to start again.
My shoelaces still come loose sometimes and I'm 57! Luckily you can buy special laces that once inserted in a pair of shoes, never come loose as they have locks. I use them for my running shoes, otherwise I have to keep stopping to tie my laces! I was pretty clumsy as a kid too - couldn't ride a bicycle or catch a ball. I have to be careful to see where I am in relation to the space around me as I tend to fall down, and once while running my arm struck a road sign, knocking off my watch. During a marathon I slipped on a cat's eye and had to get up again!
Despite this, I feel running has been of great benefit in improving my coordination. So has hiking. I write well with my left hand but can only scribble if I try it with the right. But I've learned to operate a mouse almost perfectly with my right.
I have also felt as if I've been treated like a kid and I understand it must be tough connecting with your peers. I was constantly bullied at school. It gets better as you get older.
Feel free to PM me with any specific concerns or advice. I'm in the process of writing my life story which I hope will encourage others to reach their potential.
Do you use any anti-anxiety medication?
Have tried few antidepressants found more harm than good. Do you?
