China owns a considerable chunk of US real estate.

I believe they now own a lot of European stocks too.

Yeah: mostly dockyards and service infrastructure, think it’s only dockyards that they own outright though.

As far as I’m aware the situation is similar in parts of Africa.

Hmmm... I suspect there will be prolonged tension and many proxy wars between the US and the PRC: one will outlast the other.
Advantage to USA, but the PRC is not without strengths.

I guess the dragon will be fighting the eagle for a seat on the iron throne.

I suspect that the PRC will act more like the Iron Bank for the most part, but in essence yes.

DJT has been sounding the alarm.

he warned us that there are people who *don't love America*
he curtailed immigration
built a wall to keep out foreigners
developed *America first* policies
added tariffs on Chinese imports
he labeled coronavirus as the "Chinese virus"

I suspect the global opinion of China is about to drop rather steeply, and China does not have the capacity to wage a war on the entire western world, neither militarily nor financially. The situation is precarious, but China is playing a risky game.

Also, there's apparently efforts underway to sue China under international law for something like 6 trillion dollars.

Personally, I say Chine needs a regime change. Perhaps with...encouragement.

Yeah, look at all the good it did when we invaded Iraq and overthrew their regime. That was sarcasm btw.

So you think it would have been better for the world to have mad king Saddam still in power?

They are buying our farmland. Its so they can grow it here,
ship to China, process, ship back, and resell to us and the only tax they would pay would be on the land.
What a carbon footprint.
There are states banning foreign ownership of US farm land.I hope more at states follow suit.
