Has anyone tried one and liked it? I purchased a couple of cans of chicken - had lots of tuna in cans but never chicken - feel sick to my stomach every time I look at the cans. Need to use them up. Any ideas?

Do you have any mayonnaise on hand? You could make some chicken salad for sandwiches and season it to your liking.

Do you have broth and vegetables and rice or noodles? You could make a nice soup.

Cream of mushroom soup? Egg noodles? frozen vegetables (e.g. peas, carrots, etc). You could make a tasty casserole with those things and the canned chicken. If you don't have cream of mushroom soup, if you have milk, butter and flour you could make a bechamel sauce for the casserole.

Fry up some cut/diced potatoes in a skillet and add chunks of the chicken and season as you like it.

Make a gravy, simmer the canned chicken in the gravy, boil/mash potatoes and serve the chicken gravy over the mashed potatoes.

Those are just some thoughts that come to mind.

Put cheese on a tortilla and some of the chicken chunks, veggies, canned chilies, etc, roll and heat. Or open face as a quesadilla.

Let us know how it turns out.

Fnord's Cheap Chicken Chili

1 Can (12.5 oz) chunk chicken
1 Can (about the same size) black beans
1 Jar (about the same size) Pace brand chunky salsa (mild)
1 tbs garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp red (cayenne) pepper
1/4 tsp yellow curry powder (mild)
1 tbs vegetable oil

Heat oil in skillet on medium heat.
Add chicken to skillet.
Drain black beans and add beans to skillet.
Heat and stir ingredients until chicken starts to turn brown.
Add remaining ingredients.
Heat until salsa just begins to boil.
Turn heat to low.
Simmer for about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat.

Serve as-is or on tortillas.
Tastes even better with some shredded cheddar on top.

:D

I think you're doing it wrong. The chicken goes on the outside, the can is in a chicken, like so:

I’ve been watching too much Chopped, I thought you meant the thing where they somehow manage to cram an entire, whole chicken into a can, which they’ve given the contestants to work with at least twice (unless I’m misremembering and it was Cutthroat Kitchen or something one of those times).

Sorry, canned chicken (of any sort) is not something my mom or I typically use, so I don’t have any recipe suggestions, I just thought it was funny where my mind went.
