We could have defeated mass surveillance if Bernie showed up

There was an amendment to the FISA renewal bill in the Senate that would have prevented the government from being able to access your web browser history without a warrant, it failed by one vote. It needed 60 votes to get past the filibuster, but there were only 59 yes votes. Guess who didn't show up to vote? Bernie Sanders. Had Bernie showed up, we would have been able to prevent this intrusion, but nope.

as long as there were millions of boomers terrified enough of terrorists shortly after 9/11, that they were willing to let their own government piss all over them in the name of safety,


there was always going to be mass surveillance.


and there always HAS been surveillance.

oh well. one more reason to not use the internet
