Twelve years ago we had several tornadoes pass over us and they did some damage. Many of my trees were either snapped in two like twigs or blown down at the tree roots to the ground. One of our big trees went from vertical to a 45 degree angle and stayed in that position until a couple days ago when the tree splintered apart.

The tree was around 100 foot tall. The splinter that remained is about 30 feet high. It is a dense heavy tree. The tree fell into the creek and was already starting to create a log jam, so we had remove it.
So we spent a couple days, removing all the branches. Today we pulled it completely down to the ground. A neighbor kid came by with a log mover and he helped me pull it up to dry land. Then I cut it up. Tomorrow I will bring the log splitter down and split it up into firewood. At 71, I am not the Spring chicken I use to be. So a lot of back pain for a few days.
