More applicants are applying because the holidays are on the horizon and more employees are needed.

Excellent! Good luck!

My next training session will be this Tuesday at 2 PM! :)

The main focus will be on how to handle awful customers and how to properly clean the store.

congratz on your first job! try to keep an open mind

I remember my first job when I was 18 washing dishes at a cafe for minimum wage .
In retrospect when I finished school and wanted to make some money I always imagined a workplace would be like school. I'd have a boss who's an authority figure like a teacher, it'd be a workplace where morals are adhered to like a school, and the boss together with my co-workers would work with me in harmony in order to achieve the same goal (growing the business = getting good grades). Boy oh boy, I was dead wrong. It took me about 10 or so jobs over 7 years until I found a workplace that works exactly like how I imagined it would be.

Try telling this to my mom. :x

It wouldn't surprise me if her anger issues worsen when I begin working.

The next training session will be this Monday at 1 PM with the focus being on how to
properly take stock of products.

Earlier today, I was granted employment by my first employer!

I will be working part-time at a dollar store three blocks away from my house in the freight department, so as a "behind-the-scenes" employee. Training will begin soon.

My NT sister already knows and has given her approval.

Congratulations. You can consider it a stepping stone for a better job. But even in and of itself, any job is better than no job.

That's cool and congratulations, Anonymous. I'm around the same age you are and I never had an real job/employer before either. I feel a little less weird now!

As implied by your username, are you from the LA area like many people here on WP?

@ Everyone: As a clarification, even though I have found myself proper employment, I will continue to receive SSI and EBT payments but to a lesser degree. I will begin working after the holidays are over, so beginning of 2021.
