Thought I’d share this interesting mansion monstrosity. City council changed the laws to limit size now as farms get massive tax breaks to be farms, not to host mega mansions for the ultra wealthy. Still quite the impressive house, though.

Heh - and it’s probably not even the biggest one, either. Lots of ridiculous mansions around these parts thanks to Vancouver being one of the biggest money laundering centres on the planet for the last decade.

Yaaaaay! Now ~no one who lives here can afford to buy a decent home - or any home at all in many cases. :/

I am fortunate enough to pay cheap rent to family. Others? Not so much. A small bedroom in a 600sf 2 bedroom condo downtown rents for $1250 - which isn’t anywhere near 1/2 of the mortgage/taxes/strata fees.

Thank the Lawd bebe jebuz that all the best things in life are free And that there are plenty of things to do here that make it worth staying even if we never own our own homes anymore.
