Misophonia is mostly known as getting annoyed at the noise of people chewing, but to be honest I don't even hear people chewing even if they are next to me, and even if I did it doesn't seem to annoy me. But there are certain noises that do distract me and drive me crazy:-

A helicopter hovering about for ages
Cars or motorcycles with a really loud engine
People with loud coughs
People who sneeze loudly several times in a row
A car sitting outside for ages with it's engine running
Distant music (especially when all you can hear is the bass drums)
Hearing a TV chattering or murmuring from another room
People moving about noisily in the room above me
A tap dripping
People chattering outside my window
Babies crying/little kids whining
Someone hammering next door (especially if it goes on all day)
Someone snoring - not so much when I'm trying to sleep but if I'm doing an activity in the day that involves focus and someone (like my boyfriend) is dozing off on the couch

Does anyone else get annoyed (not overwhelmed or worried, just annoyed) with these sounds? Do you get annoyed by sounds that aren't on this list too?

Yes. I once knew a person that was a mouth breather & their eating sounds were loudly lip smacking. :x I especially hate the sounds of leaf blowers & motorcycles. A family member drags their chair across the tile floor before meal times & it’s like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. :(

The nasal whine of someone explaining for hours unending every detail of why they believe all "X" are "Y".

(i.e., "All men are pigs", "All foreigners are criminals", "All aspies are sociopathic narcissists", et cetera.)

Beeping noises
Traffic
Jet aircraft
Modified cars because the exhaust note is vile.
Certain people on TV because the pitch of their voices really irritates me

Coldplay. I'm not joking. Their music just has so many tones in it that hurt. It makes me so uncomfortable and angry. Especially the timbre of Chris Martin's voice. Don't tell me any secrets, I'll break under interrogation if they just play me the intro to Yellow.

Trumpets. I hate trumpet sounds. It hurts too much.

People walking around upstairs. It just goes through me.

Leaf blowers - certainly yes - they serve little purpose but to rearrange the leaves.

Angle grinders - really hate these infernally noisy "look busy" devices.

Generators.

Heavy traffic.

Hooters.

Any machinery noise that goes on too long.

Noises with a deep bass or on the other hand, are too high pitched.

Crinkle -- I'll lose my mind, especially from packaging. I just can't.

Quiet noises like squeaks, or styrofoam rubbing together

Windshield wipers and the turn indicator sound in cars

Radio announcers doing weather or traffic reports

Chopin

I definitely don’t have full-on misophonia, but some noises that irrationally drive me insane - what I can think of off the top of my head...

My dad chews with his mouth open a little bit, so I hear him chewing (but the noise of someone chewing with their mouth completely closed doesn’t bother me, is why I really don’t think I have misophonia), and also a tendency to smack his lips while eating.

Whistling - any and all whistling just makes me instantly irritated.

People walking while wearing flip-flops.

Most pop music - I got way overdone on that in college because anywhere there was music playing on or near campus, there was a 98% chance it was tuned to the same pop station, which didn’t have much variety. Now it annoys me if I hear any of the most-played songs on that station and songs that have similar sounds to them.

Lawn mowers and other types of yard machinery, even at a distance.

These are the ones that only annoy me, there is a much, much, much longer list of noises that cause sensory issues for me.

Certain materials rubbing against each other.

Unequal length exhaust headers connected to a V8 or flat-four. The 'rumble' is exhaust pressure waves interfering with each other, it doesn't sound good. I like the sound of loud exhausts because that's what an engine should sound like, just not when it's clearly struggling to breath properly. Equal length headers on the other hand sound like aural sex.

Children's voices
Whiny voices (adults have them too)
Donald Trump's voice (more specific version of the above)

Pop music

Dogs barking/intentionally making sound
Dogs breathing/unintentionally making sound

The sound a CRT screen makes when it's on with no input, but luckily that's one I haven't encountered in ages.

OMG! My list:

- Lip smacking chewing like .....sends shudders down my spine and makes me want to SCREAM
- loud laughter around me that's not with a group I'm with
- loud voices (someone around me who's talking on the phone)
- If someone repeats words or phrases like a song, over and over

These are the worst of the worst for me that make me want to have a meltdown.

loud bass is actually something that i find soothing.
everything that envirozentil has listed is what my funny one (4 yrs old) finds soothing / craves/ asks / cries for (youtube videos to listen to if not in real life) .

for example i have had to stay ages at parks... following the city-employed people cutting grass just so he can hear it...embarrassing.

I love this YouTube channel, but the intro really triggers me. It physically repulses me. So much so that I've stopped watching his videos.

The sound of any woman's voice over crappy speakers (usually phone speakers or teleconference speakers, but any cheap speaker drives me crazy).

The sound of electronics being on (not the sounds they're intended to make), just that high pitched hum they incessantly emit.

The sounds of people outside.

Any sounds any children make, ever.
