Which was the Best Cable Series...and Why

With much of our culture in a precipitous decline, I thought it would be nice to give props to one of the more pleasant developments. Cable TV drama kicked major ass.

I was wondering which of these excellent series y'all considered the best of the best, toppermost of the poppermost, etc.

My tentative vote is for the Sopranos. I think I had the most invested in the characters. Even though there were a few slack seasons in the middle...and a problematic ending...in the end the Boys of the Bada Bing just seemed the most wonderful and horrible thing on the tube.

The murder of Adrianna la Cerva, Chris Moltisanti's boo, may have been the most shocking ten minutes of cable ever.

I think that "Boardwalk Empire" was incredibly underrated, probably because Steve Buscemi wasn't everybody's cup of tea as a lead. But the secondary leads and guest heels were magnificent, and the story overall is much more cohesive and instructive than say the Sopranos. And the music is stunningly beautiful---pick up a CD (or whatever the kids are using to listen).

The one I liked the most was Deadwood.

Trying to be more objective, probably The Sopranos or The Wire.

"Deadwood" was shockingly good. I mean, I cannot stand Westerns, but it was just so....majestic at times. That poor priest losing his mind, the epic street fight...there were so many "10/10" episodes!

Deadwood, the only i've seen, (but idk about that cabletvthing)
why, its very good? (but they didn't say f**k likely but other words)
absolutely grew up in the cowboy-area of tainment, this is a "diverse" cut through that late pioneering
(two) son used to watch that, so it grows on you
(three) "lovejoy" as a main bastard actor

GoT was really good up until about season 6, but I can't judge it on just the seasons that didn't suck, now can I?

Rome was fantastic, but it was too short. I thought about True Detective, because it's first season was remarkable...but nah.
What really hurt was excluding Rick and Morty and the first two seasons of Spartacus because they are cartoons
