I just finished binge-watching 'The Promised Neverland' on Netflix. Since there was other stuff I was suppose to be doing, I'm going to credit the action to 'burn-out'.
I don't quite know how to build a life around myself that includes the fact that when I push myself too hard (particularly socially), I stop co-operating with the world for a time. 'Return' requires escaping into a very particular style of fantasy for a time period that I can not predict.
The rest of the world tries to teach me techniques for dealing with challenge and stress: 'Lean into it', 'Feel the burn'. They don't work for me. My sister said recently, 'They don't respond to stress in the same way you do.'
Can anyone relate?
